The best AI agent courses online depend on who you are, and for a business owner my first pick is the AI Profit Boardroom, which is a Skool community with four coaching calls a week, 3,400+ members and my Agent OS inside.

I'm Julian Goldie, and this is my own list, so I am telling you up front that the top community and the top free picks are mine.

The third-party courses are real, and I read each provider's own page on 13 October 2026 before I included it.

Online courses on AI agents come in six formats, and this post matches each format to the kind of person and business it actually suits.

The Short Answer By Type Of Learner

Who you are Format I would choose My pick Second format to add
You own a business. You should choose a community with live coaching. AI Profit Boardroom You can add a YouTube full course for the overview.
You run an agency. You should choose a community with live coaching. AI Profit Boardroom You can add a vendor academy for the tool your team uses.
You create content alone. You should choose a free community. AI Money Lab You can add my free YouTube full courses.
You want a credential for your CV. You should choose a self-paced platform. AI Agent Developer on Coursera You can add a community for real practice.
You are a developer. You should choose a free open course. Hugging Face AI Agents Course You can add a vendor academy for your main model.
You have no budget at all. You should choose a YouTube full course. How to Build Agent OS You can add a free community for questions.

That table is the whole post in six rows, and the rest explains the reasoning.

My Top 3 Picks At A Glance

  • 🥇 The AI Profit Boardroom is first because it combines courses, an installable Agent OS and live coaching.
  • 🥈 AI Money Lab is second because it is free and it gives you a community from day one.
  • 🥉 My free YouTube full courses are third because you can watch a complete build without signing up for anything.

What An Online AI Agent Course Actually Is

An AI agent is software that takes a goal, uses tools and finishes a task with less hand-holding than a chatbot.

An online AI agent course teaches you how to set one up, give it a job and keep it reliable.

The courses differ far more by format than by topic.

Some give you a person to ask, some give you a certificate, and some give you nothing but code and a syllabus.

A business owner and a Python developer can both want to learn AI agents and still need completely different courses.

That is why I group the picks by where and how you learn.

The Six Online Formats Compared

Format What you get Certificate Live help Best for
Community plus live coaching You get lessons, a working system and coaching calls. My community does not advertise one. Yes, you get live calls every week. Owners and agencies.
Free community You get free lessons and a feed of people learning with you. My free community does not advertise one. You get answers from the community feed. Beginners and solo creators.
Self-paced platforms You get a fixed syllabus of video lessons. Coursera and DeepLearning.AI describe certificates. The pages I read do not promise live teaching. People who need a credential.
Free open courses You get public lessons and code. Hugging Face says its certificates are free. Hugging Face and Microsoft point to Discord. Developers.
YouTube full courses You get one long video of a complete build. YouTube videos do not include one. There is none beyond the comments. Anyone who wants to see it first.
Vendor academies You get official training from the tool maker. It varies, and I list each vendor's wording below. OpenAI Academy lists live events. Teams standardised on one tool.

I have not completed every third-party course here, so each description repeats what the provider's page says.

I have also left out third-party prices, because they change and I will not guess.

If You Own A Business

Your scarce resource is time, so the format that answers your questions fastest is the right one.

That format is a community with live coaching.

Inside the AI Profit Boardroom you get my installable Agent OS, four coaching calls a week and courses on Hermes Agent, Grok Bot, DeepSeek Harness, Claude Opus 5.5 and Jev AI.

FatRank named it the #1 AI community after testing 27 communities.

I do not advertise a certificate for it, because an owner needs a working agent more than a badge.

The way I teach owners is to start with one agent doing one job.

A good first job is something you repeat every week, such as drafting a report, sorting enquiries or researching a topic.

You install the system, give one agent that single job and bring whatever breaks to the next live call.

Once that agent is reliable, you add a second one.

🔥 Want AI agents working in your business, with help on call? The AI Profit Boardroom gives you the installable Agent OS, courses on Hermes Agent, Grok Bot, DeepSeek Harness, Claude Opus 5.5 and Jev AI, and four coaching calls a week alongside 3,400+ members. → Join the AI Profit Boardroom

If You Run An Agency

An agency has a second problem, which is that the whole team needs to work the same way.

I run Goldie Agency with 70+ people, so I think about this every day.

A coaching community is still my first choice, because the questions an agency asks are too specific for a fixed syllabus.

The second format I would add is a vendor academy for the one tool your team has standardised on.

Here are the official options I verified.

  • Claude Academy from Anthropic describes free courses, tutorials and use cases from its education team.
  • The Anthropic course catalogue lists Claude Code 101, Claude Code in Action, Building with the Claude API, Introduction to Model Context Protocol, Introduction to agent skills and Introduction to subagents.
  • That catalogue's FAQ says the platform tracks progress so that it can provide completion certificates.
  • Google has an Agentic AI on Google Cloud learning path on Google Skills, which the page lists as eight activities managed by Google Cloud.
  • Google Skills says its paths can lead to skill badges, certificates and certifications.
  • OpenAI Academy lists courses, communities and events, and the events include livestreams and on-demand sessions.
  • OpenAI's developer site also has a Building agents track.
  • LangChain Academy says its self-paced course content is always free and that its certification exam is the paid part.

A vendor academy teaches the official method for one tool, and it will not tell you how to fit that tool into your client work.

That gap is the reason I pair it with coaching.

If You Create Content Alone

A solo creator usually has more curiosity than budget, so I would start free.

AI Money Lab is my free Skool community, and its about page lists a free AI community, free AI courses and 50+ free AI tools.

No certificate is advertised, and the help comes from other members in the feed.

The second format I would add is a YouTube full course.

The video at the top of this page is my Hermes full course, which runs for two hours.

My other free pick is my Agent OS course.

YouTube gives you no certificate and no live help, and that is fine when a free community covers the questions.

A sensible first agent for a creator is one that turns a finished video or article into a first draft of something else.

If You Want A Credential

Some people need proof for an employer, and a self-paced platform is the format built for that.

The AI Agent Developer Specialization on Coursera comes from Vanderbilt University and is taught by Dr. Jules White.

Its page describes a six-course series at beginner level with a flexible schedule and a shareable certificate.

The page lists the pace as two months at ten hours a week, and it says financial aid is available.

A single course from the same instructor is AI Agents and Agentic AI with Python & Generative AI, which the page lists as five modules at beginner level.

Agentic AI on DeepLearning.AI is taught by Andrew Ng and is self-paced.

Its page says the course covers reflection, tool use, planning and multi-agent workflows, and that it expects intermediate Python skills.

It says the certificate comes with the DeepLearning.AI Pro membership, and that a free audit gives you the videos without a certificate.

DeepLearning.AI also lists a short course called AI Agents in LangGraph, which is marked intermediate.

Udemy is the other well-known self-paced marketplace, and I teach there myself.

Udemy's site blocked my automated check on 13 October 2026, so I am not naming a specific agent course from it.

My honest advice is that a certificate proves you finished a course, while a working agent proves you can do the job.

You should aim to leave with both.

If You Are A Developer

A developer learns fastest from code that runs, and the free open courses give you exactly that.

The Hugging Face AI Agents Course describes itself as a free course that takes you from beginner to expert.

Its units cover agent fundamentals, the smolagents, LlamaIndex and LangGraph frameworks, agentic RAG and a final project where you create, test and certify an agent.

The page says the certification process is completely free and invites you to join study groups on Discord.

Hugging Face also has a free Model Context Protocol course, which it says was built in partnership with Anthropic.

Microsoft publishes AI Agents for Beginners on GitHub under the MIT licence.

The repository title describes 18 lessons, and it says each lesson includes a written lesson, a short video and Python code samples.

It points you to a dedicated channel in the Microsoft Foundry Discord, and it has a video series on Microsoft Learn.

Microsoft Learn also has a path called Develop AI agents on Azure, which is listed as nine modules at intermediate level.

The second format I would add is the vendor academy for whichever model you build on most.

If You Have No Budget

You can learn a great deal without paying anything.

I would watch one YouTube full course from start to finish, and then join a free community so that you have somewhere to ask questions.

My approach is free models first, because you should not pay for a model until one agent is doing one useful job.

When that agent works and you want to go faster, a paid coaching community becomes worth considering.

How To Combine Two Formats

I recommend two formats, and never six.

One format should give you the content, and the other should give you help.

Pair What the first format gives you What the second format gives you
A YouTube full course with a free community It gives you the whole build in one sitting. It gives you people to ask when you get stuck.
A self-paced platform with a coaching community It gives you a syllabus and a certificate. It gives you live answers on your own business.
A free open course with a vendor academy It gives you framework skills and code. It gives you the official method for your main model.
A vendor academy with a coaching community It gives you depth in one tool. It gives you a way to apply that tool commercially.

You should finish the first unit of your content format before you add the second format.

You should also set one outcome for the month, such as one agent running one weekly job.

What I Would Not Do

  • I would not buy a course because of the logo on the certificate.
  • I would not sign up for three platforms in the same week.
  • I would not judge a course by its length, because a short course you finish beats a long one you abandon.
  • I would not trust any course that promises a set income.
  • I would not wait to feel ready before building the first agent.
