Grok Bot iOS is worth it for a business owner who already pays for Grok Bot, because it turns the iPhone into the place you approve, answer and check work while you are away from the desk.

It is not a separate product.

The official mobile docs describe it as a companion that reaches the same Bots, chats, routines and cloud computer as the desktop app.

The real question for an owner is what you stop doing at a laptop once it is on your phone.

If you want help picking those jobs, book a free SEO strategy session and my team will map them with you.

Install it if your plan already includes Grok Bot and you spend your day on the shop floor, at client sites or in meetings.

Skip buying it on the phone if your account already includes access, because that is how owners end up paying twice.

Hold off if your team has not written approval rules yet, because a phone makes it too easy to tap Allow on autopilot.

What an owner can actually do from the iPhone

Per the Get Started guide and the mobile docs, the phone covers the daily loop.

  • Start work by typing, dictating or calling a Bot by voice.
  • Answer a Bot question when it is waiting for you.
  • Approve or deny actions from a card.
  • Edit and send email or Slack drafts the Bot prepared.
  • Pause or resume routines and read their run history.
  • Watch the cloud computer and take over for a password or a two-factor code.

Work keeps running in the cloud when you close the app, so a long job does not die because you pocketed the phone.

Teaching a workflow by demonstration, testing routines and updating the computer still need a desktop.

A local shop: approvals between customers

Picture a bakery owner with a Bot that drafts supplier emails and watches the order inbox.

She sets an Ask first rule for any email to a new address.

When the Bot drafts a reorder, a card lands on her iPhone, she taps it to read the full request, and approves between two customers.

Cards started from her own chat message wait for her, so nothing times out while the queue is long.

Cards raised by a routine expire after 30 minutes, which is a good reason to keep routine approvals for quiet hours.

A service firm: site visits, photos and the calendar

A plumbing or cleaning firm lives on photos and appointments.

On iPhone, the share sheet sends a photo, file, link or text straight into a Bot chat, and iPhone HEIC photos show as images.

A technician-turned-owner can snap a job, share it to the Bot, and ask for a quote draft from the notes.

The Bot can also read the iPhone calendar and add or move events, but it never invites anyone and cannot edit repeating events.

Reminders work too, on iPhone only, so a follow-up call can land in the default list without a second app.

An agency: client approvals and pages on the go

Agency owners spend half the week reviewing.

A Bot can build a page such as a report, a tracker or a memo, and you open it from its card on the phone.

Each page shows whether it is Private, Team or Public, and the share button changes who can view it.

Renaming a page needs the desktop, but checking a client report in a taxi does not.

Pages need app version 1.14.0 or later, per the files and results docs, so keep the App Store version current.

Which plans include the iPhone app

The app needs a plan that includes Grok Bot, and Grok Bot on The X Subscription names them: Premium, Super and Ultra.

The Plus plan does not include Grok Bot.

Team seats on those plans work on the phone too.

Older Cursor plans also carry over: Cursor Ultra, Pro+, Pro and self-serve Cursor Teams seats.

Linked SuperGrok and X Premium+ subscriptions count as well, but a link and a Cursor plan never stack; you get whichever grants more weekly usage.

Phone and desktop share one pool of usage on your account, so the iPhone adds no extra allowance.

App Store or web: pick one billing route

If your account has no Grok Bot access yet, the paywall in the app lets you subscribe through the App Store.

Only monthly individual plans are sold that way.

Yearly billing, Teams and Enterprise come from the web, which is the route most firms with staff will want.

Apple then owns that subscription: Cursor cannot cancel or refund it for you.

For the books, that means a store receipt from Apple rather than an invoice from the provider, so decide which your accountant prefers before you tap Subscribe.

How to avoid paying twice

The App Store billing article is blunt about the risk.

If you pay for Cursor through the App Store and switch to The X Subscription on the web, Apple keeps billing you until you cancel in iPhone Settings.

If you bought Grok, Grok Bot or X Premium through the App Store, the switch cancels it and asks Apple to refund the unused time, and Apple decides.

  1. Check what you already pay for before installing.
  2. Sign in with the same account you use on the desktop.
  3. Only buy in-app if the access screen still says you have nothing.
  4. After any switch, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and cancel what is left.

Two kinds of trial, and only one converts

The Grok Bot FAQ separates them clearly.

The usage-credit trial claimed on web or desktop never turns into a paid plan, and on a free plan you can end it in Settings → Usage on iPhone.

An App Store free trial started in the iOS app is run by Apple and becomes a paid Apple subscription unless you cancel first.

Put the trial end date in your calendar the day you start it.

Risks to manage before staff rely on it

  • Tap fatigue: set Ask first rules only for actions that matter, so each card means something.
  • Home and locks: on iPhone a Bot can change Apple Home accessories, including locks and garage doors, so keep those on Ask first.
  • Notifications: push delivery on iPhone is rolling out gradually, so do not rely on alerts alone for urgent approvals yet.
  • Team limits: an admin can set phone tools to Ask every time, Never allow or Always allow.

The approvals and privacy page explains each card and rule in plain words.

Where the time savings come from

I will not put a number on it, because the docs do not and every business is different.

The saving is structural: work that used to wait until you were back at a laptop gets approved in the moment.

Voice helps most for owners who hate typing, because Start voice chat and the Action Button shortcut put a Bot one press away.

Siri works too: "Send a message in Grok Bot" starts a message without hunting for the app.

Search helps as well: one box on the home screen finds Messages, Bots, Group Chats, Files and Routines, so you stop scrolling for last week's quote.

And because routines keep running in the cloud, the morning report is waiting when you open the app, not when you get back to the office.

An iPad behind the counter works too

The same iOS app runs on iPad with iPadOS 18 or later, per the FAQ list of supported platforms.

For a shop or a salon, a counter iPad signed in to the owner account makes a decent review screen for pages and approvals.

In Settings → Connect apps, the iPad shows up as its own device next to All, with its apps listed under This iPad.

Phones cannot be removed from the device list, so think before you sign a shared tablet in to your personal account.

A cleaner choice for staff is their own seat on a team plan, with their own login.

Getting started in one afternoon

  1. Confirm your plan is Premium, Super or Ultra, or a legacy Cursor plan that includes Grok Bot.
  2. Install the app from the App Store and sign in with your existing account.
  3. Turn on notifications for the two or three Bots that need you most, and leave the rest quiet.
  4. Write three Ask first rules: new email recipients, anything public, and anything that spends money.
  5. Allow Calendar and Reminders under Settings → Connect apps if you want the Bot booking follow-ups.
  6. Send one real task from the phone and approve it end to end, so you know what a card looks like before it matters.

That is the whole rollout for a solo owner, and nothing in it needs a developer.

Rolling it out to a small team

Get the desktop app installed for the person who owns the setup first; my guide to the Grok Bot Mac app covers that.

Then have each staff member install the iPhone app and sign in with their own account on the team plan.

Write approval rules together in one meeting, so everyone knows what a card means.

Review usage weekly in the app Settings, since phones and desktops draw from the same pool.

The verdict for owners

If you already pay for Grok Bot, the iPhone app is free value that moves approvals out of your inbox and into your pocket.

If you do not, buy on the web when you need yearly billing or seats, and in the app only when a single monthly plan is all you want.

FAQ: Grok Bot iOS For Business

Is the Grok Bot iPhone app an extra cost for my business?

No separate product is involved. If your plan already includes Grok Bot, signing in on the iPhone with the same account carries your access over without a second purchase.

Can I buy a team plan inside the iPhone app?

No. The app only sells monthly individual plans through the App Store. Yearly billing, Teams and Enterprise plans are bought on the web.

Who refunds an App Store purchase of Grok Bot?

Apple. Cursor cannot cancel or refund an in-app plan, so billing questions and refunds go through Apple subscription support.

Will my staff get more usage by using phones?

No. Phone and desktop share the same usage on the account, so the iPhone app adds convenience, not allowance.

Is it safe to let a Bot use my phone apps?

It only works in your own chat with a Bot you own, and each app needs iOS permission. Keep Auto Review on and add Ask first rules for anything sensitive.
