- Go to portal.nousresearch.com/cloud and sign in.
- Create a new agent.
- Open the model section and scroll down.
- Click "Free" to see the free models.
- Choose Upstage Solar Mini 4 and deploy.
Your agent now runs in the cloud on a free brain, and you never touched a terminal.
Option B: Hermes Desktop, with a profile per model
This is what I do on my own machine.
- Create a new profile in Hermes Desktop and name it after the model, such as "solar mini 4".
- Refresh the models list so the new free models show up.

- Start a chat in that profile.

This is the first job I tested, and it's the one I'd start with.

Solar Mini 4 is not a frontier model, and I won't pretend it is.
It isn't in the same league as Claude Opus 5.5 for serious thinking or polished writing.
One viewer told me it ran badly for them, so your results will depend on the job you give it.
But for fast, basic agentic tasks, it's free, quick and genuinely useful.
My advice is to give it your most boring weekly job first and see how much time it hands back.
