The best Hermes Agent UI for a business is Hermes Desktop, because it is the free official app, it is stable, and your team can learn it without touching a terminal.

Herald OS is my second pick for anyone juggling several clients or companies, and Hermes WebUI is third for owners who want their agent on a phone.

Below, I match all nine interfaces to the way business owners, agencies and creators actually work, so you can pick one and get on with the job.

These are my own picks from running each one on my own machine, and I run an agency with 70+ people, so I care about what a team can really use.

Top 3 Picks At A Glance

  • 🥇 Hermes Desktop is the best Hermes Agent UI for most businesses, because it is official, free and stable.
  • 🥈 Herald OS is the best pick for separating clients and companies, and it is also the nicest to look at.
  • 🥉 Hermes WebUI is the best pick for using your agent from a phone or a second computer.

What A Hermes Agent UI Is, In Plain English

Hermes Agent is a free, open-source AI agent made by Nous Research.

It can use tools, run scheduled jobs, remember what it learns and answer you on messaging apps.

On its own, Hermes lives in a terminal, which is a black window where you type commands.

A Hermes Agent UI is a friendly screen on top of that same agent.

It is the difference between giving a new hire a command manual and giving them a proper desk.

All of these screens talk to one shared agent, so your memory, skills and scheduled jobs follow you between them.

The Problem A Good Interface Solves For A Business

Most owners don't fail with AI agents because the agent is weak.

They fail because nobody on the team wants to open a terminal.

A good interface fixes three business problems.

It makes the agent easy enough that staff actually use it.

It shows you what the agent is doing, so work doesn't quietly stall.

It keeps clients, projects and schedules in separate, tidy places.

That is how I judged every tool below.

How I Ranked The Best Hermes Agent UI For Business Use

I asked four questions about each interface.

Could a non-technical team member use it on day one?

Is it stable enough to trust with daily work?

Does it help you separate clients, projects and scheduled jobs?

What does it really cost once you add the model behind it?

This is my own judgement from using them, and it is not a measured test.

Match The Interface To The Way You Work

If You're A Solo Business Owner

Start with Hermes Desktop.

You download it, pick a model and start chatting, and the settings, scheduled jobs and skills are all a click away.

In my own setup, I use scheduled automations like a daily 6am to-do recap and a morning inbox summary.

You can build both of those without writing code.

If You Run An Agency With Several Clients

Look hard at Herald OS.

The question I get most inside my community is "I have separate companies and clients, so how should I set up my agent?"

Herald OS answers it with Spaces, which start as Ideas, Work and Personal, and you can add a new space for each client.

It also has Missions, where you give Hermes a goal like building a new website and it plans the steps.

Keep Hermes Desktop installed next to it, because Herald OS is still an alpha.

If You're A Creator Or You Work On The Move

Add Hermes WebUI.

It runs in a browser, so the agent on your office machine is reachable from your phone.

Hermes Workspace does a similar job and adds a kanban board, which I use as an AI to-do list.

If Your Agent Must Work While You Sleep

Look at Hermes Cloud.

Your agent runs on Nous Research's servers around the clock, so closing your laptop doesn't stop the work.

You can message it from Telegram, Discord, Slack or email.

If You Manage A Team Of Agents

Add Hermes Pixel Office.

It shows each agent as a small character at a desk, and a red exclamation mark appears when one is waiting for your approval.

A silently blocked agent is one of the most expensive failures in any workflow, so this simple view pays for itself in saved time.

The 9 Best Hermes Agent UI Options, Ranked

1. Hermes Desktop

Hermes Desktop is the official native app from Nous Research for macOS, Windows and Linux.

It gives you chat, previews, a file browser, voice, scheduled jobs, profiles, skills and settings in one window.

Best for: It is best for owners and teams who want one reliable app.

Cost: It is free.

How to get it: You download it from the Hermes Desktop page, or you run hermes desktop if Hermes is already installed.

Limits: Voice permissions were hit and miss on my Mac when I tested them in June.

2. Herald OS

Herald OS is a free, open-source operating system built around Hermes, made by an independent developer called Luke The Dev.

Its dashboard greets you, shows today's schedule and suggests where to pick up from your recent documents, projects and chats.

Best for: It is best for people with several clients or companies who also want a beautiful screen.

Cost: It is free under the MIT licence.

How to get it: You install Hermes first, then download Herald OS from its GitHub releases page for an Apple Silicon Mac or Linux.

Limits: It is an alpha, and the Connections page for outside apps did not sync for me.

I explain every page in my Herald OS guide.

3. Hermes WebUI

Hermes WebUI is a community browser app with sessions on the left, chat in the middle and your files on the right.

Best for: It is best for reaching your agent from a phone or a second computer.

Cost: It is free under the MIT licence.

How to get it: You clone it from GitHub and run its bootstrap script.

Limits: Somebody on your team needs to set up safe remote access, such as Tailscale.

4. Hermes Workspace

Hermes Workspace is a community command centre with chat, memory, skills, files, a terminal and a kanban task board.

Best for: It is best for small teams who want to see tasks move from backlog to done.

Cost: It is free under the MIT licence.

How to get it: You run the one-line installer from its GitHub page.

Limits: It has more parts to keep running than Hermes Desktop.

5. The Hermes Web Dashboard

The web dashboard is the admin panel that ships inside Hermes.

Best for: It is best for managing API keys, scheduled jobs, logs and usage analytics.

Cost: It is free.

How to get it: You run hermes dashboard, and it opens in your browser on your own machine.

Limits: It is an admin screen, so it is not built for all-day chat.

6. Hermes Pixel Office

Hermes Pixel Office is a free plugin by Teknium that draws your agents as pixel characters in an office.

Best for: It is best for spotting a stuck agent at a glance.

Cost: It is free.

How to get it: You install it as a Hermes plugin, or you add the similar Hermes Office plugin with one click in Hermes Desktop.

Limits: It only shows your agents, so you can't give orders from it.

7. StarNet

StarNet is a free agent harness that looks like a pixel-art space station, and it can import an existing Hermes agent.

Best for: It is best for making agents fun for a team that finds AI boring.

Cost: It is free under the MIT licence.

How to get it: You get it from GitHub, and I cover the steps in my StarNet AI agent post.

Limits: I honestly don't think it has a massive number of practical use cases, and API keys don't carry over in the import.

8. Hermes Cloud

Hermes Cloud is the hosted Hermes from Nous Research, with a browser chat and messaging channels.

Best for: It is best for always-on work that can't depend on your laptop.

Cost: It is paid, and when I set it up in July 2026 it needed at least $10 in credits or an active Nous subscription.

How to get it: You sign in to Nous Portal, name your agent and pick a model.

Limits: It is the only option here with a bill for the interface itself.

9. The Terminal

The terminal is the original Hermes interface, and there is a modern version that you start with hermes --tui.

Best for: It is best for developers.

Cost: It is free.

How to get it: It comes with every Hermes install.

Limits: Most business owners and staff won't use it, which is why this list exists.

My Own Agent OS (Unranked, Because It's Mine)

I also run Hermes inside my own Agent OS, which puts Hermes, Claude and my other agents under one shared memory.

I haven't ranked it, because it would not be fair to rank my own product in my own list.

It is only available to members of the AI Profit Boardroom as an installable zip.

If you're not a member, every free tool above will still get you a long way.

What Each Hermes Agent UI Really Costs

Interface Cost of the interface Who it suits Stable enough for daily work?
Hermes Desktop Free Owners and teams Yes, it is the official app.
Herald OS Free Multi-client operators Not yet, because it is an alpha.
Hermes WebUI Free Mobile owners Yes, with safe remote access.
Hermes Workspace Free Small teams Yes, with some setup.
Web dashboard Free Admins Yes, it is built in.
Hermes Pixel Office Free Agent managers Yes, it only watches.
StarNet Free Curious teams It is fine for fun.
Hermes Cloud Paid Always-on work Yes, it is hosted for you.
Terminal Free Developers Yes, it is the original.

The interface is rarely the real cost.

The real cost is the AI model you connect, because Hermes needs a model provider such as Nous Portal, OpenRouter, OpenAI or Anthropic.

You can keep that cost at zero with free or local models, and I cover that in my free Hermes Agent OS breakdown.

How A Business Should Roll One Out

Pick one interface for the whole team, and make it Hermes Desktop unless you have a clear reason not to.

Connect one model and send a small test job before any real work.

Set up one scheduled job that saves somebody time every morning, such as an inbox summary.

Create a separate profile or space for each client before you add their information.

Leave approval prompts on, so the agent asks before it sends messages.

Check the activity history each week, so you can see background work you forgot about.

Add a second interface only when a real need appears, such as phone access.

Honest Risks To Know Before You Commit

Herald OS is an alpha from one independent developer that first appeared on GitHub on 6 October 2026, so don't build a client process that depends on it yet.

Community tools can change quickly, which means somebody has to keep them updated.

The Memory page can show private details, and I spotted my own Telegram details in mine while recording.

Plugins are made by the community, so read the GitHub page before you install one.

None of these are reasons to avoid Hermes.

They are simply the things I'd want a business owner to know on day one.
